I was commissioned by Pakistani celebrity Sanam Jung to create ads for her perfume line. The project included editorial photographs for publications and a video showcasing the femininity and natural essence of the perfume. Through direction, post-production and hand-drawn animations, I captured the perfume’s lingering floral scent.

Showcase the perfume's dynamic essence that transports users through a sensory experience.

STORY SYNOPSIS

Set in a sunlit greenhouse, we follow Sanam Jung savoring the perfume’s gentle and earthy notes. The breezy cinematography and hand-drawn floral animations highlight its delicate and feminine essence.

CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT

Collaborated with Sanam Jung to develop the concept, focusing on femininity and the natural essence of the perfume, inspired by floral and earthy scents.
Created a mood board to define the visual tone, lighting, and styling for the shoot and film.
Planned composition, camera movements, and framing to show the perfume.

CHALLENGES

Worked solo due to pandemic restrictions, managing all equipment and security concerns alone.
Limited to a one-hour golden light window for shooting.
Final soundtrack selection occurred post-shoot, requiring creative adjustments during editing.

EQUIPMENT

Cameras: Canon EOS RP and M50.
Lenses: 35mm, 50mm and 100mm for a mix of A and B roll shots.
Stabilization: Gimbal for smooth transitions.

DIRECTION

Set up and directed the shots to ensure clean visuals and focus on product usage.
Experimented with close-ups and mid-range shots to highlight left space for the animations in post-production.

POST-PRODUCTION

Developed hand-drawn animations in Procreate Dreams for seamless transitions between frames.
Edited and synced footage to music and footsteps.
Enhanced visuals with subtle, professional color grading to maintain the fresh tone of the videos.
